Such a great getaway to recharge and enjoy the beautiful nature the God has created for us! It is a small town, with a big impact on our hearts. Town Square

There are two locations where pickleball lovers can play in Athens, Athens Country Club and Cain Center Tennis Courts.

East Texas Arboretum
Athens is home to a wonderful arboretum and botanical gardens. They have various attractions to explore.
- Enjoy a 2 mile hike on along the botanical trails.
- Take a step back in time with the Heritage Exhibits showcasing the oldest house in Henderson County, a jail cell from 1890, and a milking stall.
- Pay respects at the Henderson County Veteran Memorial.

Lake Athens
Bring your boat and take a dip in Lake Athens only 10 minutes away! Athens is home to the wildlife and fisheries so you can guarantee and freshly stocked lake.
The lake also offers a small beach area to gather, grill out, and enjoy the water from the shore. There is a place for kids as well with a playground near by.
